We're in the business of working for you, not profiting from your information.
We make deliberate efforts to collect the bare minimum amount of data as you visit our site as possible. The only information we collect that could potentially identify you in any way is your IP address (see below for more information), and any information your provide to us if you use our contact form.
Further to this, we carefully select the solutions we use based on their privacy stance and the ethical standards they adhere to. If we use any external services that might attempt to trade in your data we intentionally restrict the information they have access to and how they operate, in order to protect your information.
Here's a list of the services we use and some details on how we use them.
hCaptcha
hCaptcha is a modern, privacy-focused service designed to stopping bots and human abuse. We use hCaptcha to stop spam and bots on our contact form. They design their systems to minimise data collection and retention periods. Like Agave Technologies, they believe that the best way to protect user data is to not store it at all.
Plausible
Meta's pixel is a scourge on the internet (https://themarkup.org/show-your-work/2022/04/28/how-we-built-a-meta-pixel-inspector). We will never use tracking pixels or web beacons. For our web logs and analytics we use Plausible, a privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics.
Akamai Linode
We control our own hosting infrastructure on the Akamai Linode Cloud, and our app and web logs are controlled and accessible by Agave alone. The IP address used to access our site is record in our web logs, as this is needed to route traffic over the internet. We advise you use a VPN if you do not wish web sites to know your home or work IP address. Proton VPN is recommended. Proton are a Swiss based company with a very strong privacy focus.
Humanitix
For any events that require ticketing or registration we rely on Humanitix. Humanitix is a not-for-profit organisation that directs 100% of its profits from booking fees to charitable causes, with a primary focus on education programs for disadvantaged children.
Sentry
We use Sentry for our application performance monitoring (APM) so that we can catch any errors in our web applications. We carefully gate and restrict the information that we send to Sentry to ensure that your privacy is protected.
Sendgrid
Our contact form uses Sendgrid to relay the email, however Sendgrid to not have access to your name, your email or your contact form message - these details are delivered directly to our encrypted mailbox, which is only accessible by Agave Technologies.
